C.E. Wallace

La Niña

En la sombra

De mi lápiz

Vive una niña

De papel y pesadilla

Niña oscura

La escritura ilegible

De las constelaciones

Es su guía

La luna la vigila

Noche tras noche

Cuando el silencio

Escucha a sí mismo

Una lámpara sirve

Como escudo

Contra

los dedos fríos

Del tiempo

Ella se sienta

Esperando

El aliento húmedo

De la alba

El sabor amargo

En su lengua

Sabe a las lágrimas

En sus ojos

Bio

From C.E. Wallace: I am a Paraguayan-born poet based in New York. I began writing poetry as a teenager, attending the New England Young Writer’s conference in 2002, and have been in love with the written word ever since. My poetry spans years and experiences and covers topics such as mental health, belonging, romance, and the metaphysical. I am currently writing and editing poetry collections in English and Spanish which I hope to submit for publication in the near future. I can be found on Twitter @claraelenadice
